Best pillow for snoring

By the pillowed-it teamLast reviewed May 2026

Most snoring is positional — when you lie flat, soft tissue at the back of your throat collapses inward and vibrates with each breath. The fix is elevation (raise your head 30–45° to keep the airway open) or alignment (cervical contour to extend the neck). The picks below cover both approaches at every price tier.

When a pillow won't fix it

If you snore loudly enough to wake your partner most nights, gasp awake, or feel exhausted despite a full night's sleep, see a doctor — those are sleep apnea symptoms, and a pillow won't fix sleep apnea. A pillow change is worth trying for two weeks for occasional snoring. For chronic loud snoring, get a sleep study.

Wedge vs contour

Wedge pillows lift your whole upper body (best for snoring + acid reflux + post-nasal drip). Cervical contours lift only your head (best for snoring caused by chin-tuck). If you snore mostly on your back, try a wedge first. If you snore in any position, try a contour.

The water core's firmness adjustment lets you dial in just enough lift to open the airway without overcorrecting. Validated in neck-pain trials, transfers cleanly to snoring.
